Ontario’s Infectious Disease Leave aka Covid-19 leave has been extended to July 3, 2021.
This can be looked at as good news to the Employer whose employees are on leave due to the pandemic/lack of work, as the extension effectively extends the time allowance for the employer to payout if any, severance pay. Its also good news for the Employee who, while on this job-protected leave continues to earn credits for length of employment, and the right to be reinstated.
