Mandatory Employee COVID-19 Questionnaire

By September 25, 2020Covid-19, Employers, Ontario

The Government of Ontario announced today that as of September 26, 2020, all workplaces in Ontario are required that their employees complete a COVID-19 questionnaire before beginning work.

Workplaces should implement this screening for any workers or essential visitors entering the work environment. This does not include patrons entering a workplace (e.g., customers entering a grocery store, restaurant, bar or other food or drink establishment).

Anyone who does not pass screening should be advised that they should not enter the workplace and should self-isolate, call their health care provider or Telehealth Ontario. Once an individual has passed the screening questions, they should be allowed to enter the workplace but should report any symptoms immediately.

The questionnaire is quick and easy to complete, asking about any new/worsening COVID-19 symptoms, travel outside of Canada and if you’ve come into contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
